Sooo... I have 4 inch skyjacker coils for my truck. I was looking around on summit and they sell both a kit with radius arms and just the coils themselves. Do I need to purchase the radius arms if all I have is the coils? Can I get away with just the coils and getting an alignment?

 

you will need radius arms or radius drop brackets, i beam drop brackets, good idea for pitman arm drop, longer shocks, longer brake lines or rebend kinda, then probably new alignment cams at the shop...

 

*****... I don't have that kind of money right now, I got a good deal on them from a local guy who was going to lift his 96 and didn't. I expected I would need longer brake lines and shocks and an alignment. Are the I-beam drop brackets and radius drop brackets something fairly simple to fab up with a mig welder or should I sell them and just buy leveling coils?

 

you got them cheap cause you are missing every part of the kit but one thing that is why.. personally you got hosed...

Dude, get the leveling coils if it is worth it to you. You won't have a way to lift the rear, and the coils wont fit without lots of persuasion. Your camber and castor would be screwed.

Agreed, you definitely would need the drop brackets for the radius arms and the axle pivots. Brakes lines = yes. Too much to fab yourself, with too much margin for error. And with extended radius arms, you still need the new transmission crossmember and radius arm brackets. This is jsut for the front...for the rear, the AAL, block, shackle, or spring swaps.

How much did you get the coils for? If it's more than $100, it's BS. If ya got em for like $20, then good job. Look around...people are always selling their used parts...

 

I got them for $30. I'm going to keep them and buy the leveling coils when I go to Summit truckfest in a few weeks.

For the rear lift I was going to block it. My front is way lower then my rear. my coils are just settled so much. My rear actually sits an inch higher then an '04 FX4 F150.
