LCA bolts
Hello everybody, hope somebody can point me in the right direction. My son has an 01 xlt 4x2 and I am replacing the front end. I ended up having to cut out the cam bolt on the passenger side lower control arm. Not having any luck finding a replacement and the dealership don’t open till Monday, even if they can get it anymore. Anybody know of where to locate said bolt? Thanks |

?? camber bolts are on upper control arm, 2001 diagram here: https://www.alignmentspecs.com/images/adjust/24.gif Is this what you cut: https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...9000/overview/ Moog has these: Local auto parts stores should have these |
I know cam bolts are on the upper control arms. Ford used a cam bolt on the lower control arm on the passenger side towards the back. The other bolts in the LCA are a normal bolt with a nut welded to a bracket that locks into the frame. The bracket on the frame is also slotted. This bolt is about 6” long. Update I got lucky and managed to find one at a local salvage yard that slipped right out. |

Never ran into that bolt, or wasn't paying attention when I did :)

I know this is a older thread but just wanted to let yall know for anybody that may come across this thread while searching.
When I was doing my suspension rebuild on my 01. I came across this bolt the OP speaks of, but I didn't notice it was a cam bolt until after I removed it with my impact destroying it. I searched all over for a new one and couldn't find much. The ones I did find for the Ranger they wanted $35 for. Did a little more research and found that F150 had this same bolt, ordered one off eBay for like $7-8. Have yet to install it but its identical to the one I removed. Ill have to get the part number off the bolt when I get home. Wayne |
