leaf spring help please

i have been reading all the threads on the explorer leaf switch and i'm gonna go for that on the basis that it helps the ride out and will help with loading/ towing. two questions that im hoping all you pros can help me with. first do i reuse the stock U bolts there in good shape or get new ones? second do the springs sit right on the axle once the block is out or do i put something in between them?

thanks for the advice guys

technically your not supposed to reuse the ubolts at all. however, if we all replaced u bolts every time we took springs off, the u bolt businesses would be making good money. Just use common sense on them. You can have the springs sit right on the axle or on the block, thats how they are on explorers, right under the axle.

Rangers are spring over vs the explorers that are spring under axle. Normally you will want to keep the springs on top of the axle like your current setup. The explorer is a slightly higher rated pack so will give you a bit of lift if they are in good shape. If you don't want the lift and have blocks you can remove your current blocks, but that will require new shorter u bolts.
