lift kit steering stops
lift kit steering stops
Are these a "neccessary" item, or is it just something that's strictly optional when it comes to the installation of a spindle kit?
Not sure what role they play in limiting the amount of steering you may or may not have.

I can only tell you, from the standpoint of having Doetsch spindles, that without them you have to be cognizant of how much you turn. I've gotten used to it, but I can just as easily press my calipers in and have almost no brakes after doing a full-lock turn.
The stock steering stops do very little when you're done. Contact between the lower arm and the spindle becomes your stop, or contact between the lower arm and the back of the brake caliper.
It's a definite issue and one I've not solved satisfactorily -- I just live with it.

yeah, ive wondered this for quite a while... i want to get some doetsch spindles cuz of the price, and cuz of how bad fabtechs are (so ive heard)... but the only thing is the fabtech kit comes with everything you need, even new stops. Do you think that it would be easy to just fab up some new stops for the doetsch ones? whats really the big difference between them...?
