Lifting a 2004 Edge

I want to lift my 2004 Edge but I dont know where to start. if you guys could get me headed in the right direction as far as what kind of kit to buy and what to do that would be great. also if i did lift it would it look too funny rolling around on my stock wheels and tires.

its a 4x2 and its all stock except for my flowmaster exhaust and i also removed the air silencer and i blacked out the tail lights. i've been reading up on body lifts but i dont know if that is the right choice to go with and if its something i could do on my own or if its best to take it and have it profesionally installed. i mainly use my truck to tow around my dirt bikes but i want to give it a more agressive look by lifting it.

are these kits easy to install on your own or should i have them intalled professionally. if i got a 3" lift would it look funny if i still drove around with my stock wheels and tires.

SuspensionMax is the Doetsch spindles. Got mine from there and they're great but ALL spindles require some grinding of your lower a-arm and freeing up the brake lines for more movement, etc. Make sure you understand what's required by reading the installation posts on the board here. All the different spindles have been covered to some extent I do believe.

The Doetsch spindles are different in that you can run stock backspaced wheels with them with no problem.

I've posted a lot on my install, but I did the rear myself and make up a custom 31 spline axle (FX4 31 spline axle with 4.56 gears and electric locker) while I was at it -- but I had "professional" help in the form of mechanic friends. Putting a lift on is definitely something you need the right tools and time for. They are NOT a simple bolt on, any spindles.

Spindles lift the front only. The "kits" they sell also have "blocks" which you insert between the spring and the axle to lift the rear. But spindles alone lift the front only.
