a little annoyed..

well, as i have stated before i am planning on getting a 3 inch body lift.. i have asked around and i havent gotten a definite answer, so im just going to give this a try 1 more time in this thread.. ive searched here, ive looked over at rps... on rps ive seen most people say that even with a 3 inch body lift you can't run 32's without rubbing let alone 33's.. iv'e seen here that a 3 inch body lift can clear 33's ...im lost and i want to get all the information/ facts together before the next 2 weeks.. i know that a 2wd sits lower than a 4wd and why the 2wd would naturally need a bigger lift... i need to know what im going to need in order to have 33's without any rubbing.. im trying to keep it at a reasonable price, and if i need to throw another 100 bucks towards coil spacers for the front then so be it, but i dont want to spend money on things im not going to need. Heres the million dollar question, what am i going to need in order to have 33's fit without rubbing?? i have 31's right now and they dont rub.. that's stock. i have a 4x4 extended cab... any information would be great... i dont want you to think that im coming across like im in a bad mood or a jerk, im just confused on what to do... so please anyone with some helpful information that would be great. thank you.

no you will not be able to clear 33's without some rubbing with just a body lift......your tires will rub on the fender flares, and the front bumper when turning and flexing....

Body lift + 33s = happiness.

Don't worry about rubbing. I have 35s and only a body lift. It's not like the very rare rubbing i get does anything at all.

But you know, for your year truck, suspension lifts are relatively inexpensive.

TAke 97Rangers advice over mine. I have a newer ranger and I assumed it would fit. As I said, there's suspension lifts that are cheap.

your truck is taller than his from the factory Aaron.......and you can crank torsion bars he can......

and yes a suspension lift for his truck can be bought for about $700 for a basic 6" lift...

I think so but he also has the 2'' coil spacer.

In my opinion if you have 31's now and you get a 3'' BL you will be able to clear 33's. If you have rubbing problems when you turn you cold always cut a bit off of your flares and with the 2'' coils you should be fine.

I vote go for lift though. Get lifted97Ranger's parts because you help out a member and get more lift.

even your 2wd Edge is TALLER than a 4wd '97 and older Ranger.....it isn't but about an inch, but it still helps....and he CAN NOT crank his torsion bars to achieve more front lift......

it comes with 4" lift coils, and the beam drop brackets......you will need to get the radius arm drop brackets and the rear lift...

x2 on the suspension lift. If you're going to offroad your truck and want 33s, youll probably be alot happier with the suspension lift.

thing is i dont offroad a lot and im mainly for looks.. so a simple body lift would be sufficient.. also another member here has a 93 same gen and all he had was a 3 inch body lift running 33x12.50 on 15x8's.. but now i believe he has leveling coils...( lone ranger 93)i believe he had the 33's on it before the leveling springs and he said it was fine hopefully he'll give his input on this..

I ran 33x12.50s on stock 15x7s with just a body lift, rubbed on the radius arms at full turn

same setup with 15x8s with 3.75 BS = no rubbing

I got the leveling coils later on cuz I got a good deal on them and figured any lift is better than 0 lift

alrighty then... so with the proper backspacing ( 3 3/4) with 15x8 rims I should be alright with just a 3 inch body lift.. ill take his word on it because he has somewhat the same truck.. thanks guys..

Now, I still rub on the radius arms at full turn just a little with my 33's with 4.25" back spacing. I had a 3" body lift with 2" (really 1 3/4") spring spacers and had 32's on a stock rims. It be me. Get 32's with the 3.75" back spacing rim and you will have no worries about rubbing in the back of you mind. Just my $0.02
