Lowering a 4x4...
Don't think you need 4WD on the streets.
Yes. MANY problems in geometry. This is with LIFTING a torsion bar suspension as well.

I can say I have done a pretty good drop on my ' Edge '. The front sits pretty low and the tire size you have specified is the exact tire size I use.
*IF* your going to take height out of the suspension, your ball-joint angles and control arm angles will be adversly effected.
HOWEVER..
If you have some DOM/CREW and know how to weld, you might be able to make a set of control arms that will work.
The MAIN issue your going to run into is what I'm presently up against. The Upper Balljoints.
You COULD buy a set of DJM uppers ( arma ) that will correct the angle of the balljoint BUT the balljoint is for a 2wd and its diameter is smaller. You COULD fab up some uniballs or heim's ( ? ) from an off-road rig to do the same job as well.
Your limits will be your cv-shaft angles. I wouldn't want to go too far down to where those shafts are pointing upwards. Excessive wear could happen at a really fast pace.
Nick was working on a coil-over type of drop on his truck. I don't know where he left off with it or how far along he went with it.

Also, if I'm getting you right D., essentially you'd need to do something like this right (sorry about the crap-tastic paint drawing but it's late and that's the best I can do, left being stock, right being with modification). Basically make an extension on the lower control arm, and somehow raise the top balljoint.

Some will say ' try a different type of bar '. I have used 1's, 2's, B's, F's.. none ride with any positive response for what I want. They are all lame.
If I set the truck back to stock height, they are GREAT! Raise or lower it.. they sukk.
