My guess he is talking about those brackets i bought from RCD... This has been done before on exploreres with RCD bracketry. No custom **** needs to be done in this swap!

 

You're basically...and really you are....putting an RCD on a ranger, but using Superlift drop brackets for the dif. Meaning.....no modding of arms needed.

 

Its super lift with coil overs.

The only thing I would want is bars from where the a arms mount to the back of the frame incase you hit something

 

You could make some for a lot less for a cheap piece of mind.

 

I feel like we are going in circles with these braces.. It has been covered and i will be making some. Give it time :)

Super lift has no provisions for adding those arms. RCD does. Why? Who really knows. I took my Superlifted 07 to Moab, had no "front to rear shifting" to worry about with mine.

The T-bars DO NOT act the same way as those bars do in preventing front to back shifting. TrePaul got that right (it only took 4 pages for someone to say it though ). The bars, when not 'loaded' simply slide in and out of the lower A-arm. Its a hex end on the bar that goes into a hex hole in the arm (with A LOT of slop when suspension is unlaoded.) There is no stop, no anchor, no lock for these bars, they provide NO front to back support except for the friction between the bar and arm when the suspension is loaded.

If not used for anything other than light to moderate offroading I see no point in them other than
A) piece of mind
b) aesthetics

If you are planning on doing offroading where you would seriously need those bars with only a 3" lift, then you are looking at a beefier/different suspension setup




IntegraX, you mind telling a price you paid for those coilovers and coils? Or a PM would suffice if you dont want it public.

this sounds like a cool project, but pardon my stupidity, what exactly is the problem with torsion bars? other than the fact that they hang down with the superlift set up, whats the big deal? in fact, RCD has these bracket arms that hang down (and integra is gonna fab some), so how much extra clearance do you actually get?

Im assuming that the ride is a little softer with coilovers, but is it worth the hassle?

 

It will undoubtedly be argued that the Tbar's are dropped back down to stock height and limit ground clearance. And I'll agree to a point. They do stay at stock height, but crank them, and with the bigger tires you end up with plenty of clearance. Now, if you were doing pretty heavy rock crawling, they might be a hinderance, but of all the shelf's and rocks I climbed over in moab, only once did my tbar skid plate hit a rock.

I would have prefered to ditch them, but then again guys have had problems smacking their RCD arms and bending them too.

 

Hopefully this weekend they will be installed

Its hard seeing parts laying around in your bed room and not being able to install them right away :( Ive been playing with them all week... making sure i get all the right bolts and everything before i even attempt to do this swap!!! It will go smoothly and thats how i do business :)

Im gonna attempt to install the coil overs now, It seems like it wont be an easy task.. we will see!
