Hello, I'm hoping I can get some help here. I purchased a TSS brand 6 inch lift kit off amazon. The website indicates TSS makes and sells a large selection of lift kit parts. The site indicates this should fit my Ranger. I can't find as many options for a 2wd ranger. I installed new lower ball joints and the kit provided coil springs and shocks. I don't see where the spindles provided in the kit fit. The Ford factory spindle provides an open area for the lower control arm to be installed and the new spindle does not appear to provide enough space for the lower control arm with the ball joint installed. The spindle does not appear to be long enough to install the upper ball joint and the pinch bolt. I provide some photos. Any help is greatly appreciated.
new spindle does not appear to be long enough to install upper ball joint and pinch bolt. new spindle does not appear to provide enough space for the the lower control arm ball joint. the factory spindle is open on the bottom end providing space for the lower control arm and ball joint. new spring and shock installed
Did you read the direction? I had to grind the lip on the lower control arm. Are you sure you got the correct spindles. They make two version for coil like the one you have and torsion bar.
Are the new springs taller than the OEM you removed?
I did not get a copy of the install instructions with the kit. I did get a copy of the instructions via email today.
The instructions describe grinding the lip on the outside edge of the lower control arm. I would like to ask. How far around the edge of the control arm did you cut/grind the lip? I'm thinking of clearance between the spindle and the hub assembly via turning the front wheels. I'll verify tomorrow I have the correct spindles.
Yes that is what i did. Grind off enough so the spindle could rotate left to right without any issues. I also had to grind some material on the spindle to get more clearance.
