What should I do to fix the bad angle on the ball joint?

My mechanic says I should get a longer spindle. Like a 4” spindle. But then I feel that would make my leveling kit obsolete. I have a 3in torsion key lift. He says that it’ll pick up the arm and relieve some stress on the joint.

I wouldn’t want to spend so much and having spent money on a lift for nothing. I’m thinking of just getting some 2-4” lift control arms but can’t seem to find any for the Ranger. Does anyone know where I can’t find some angled control arms or if parts from other trucks fit on the Ranger?

Here’s the angle on the joint. I’ve heard some ppl have had it pop out on them. Si the spindle would bring up the arm and correct the angle. And the control arm would keep me at my current ride height with a better fitment

Your mechanic is telling you to remove the leveling torsion keys completely and toss them in the trash, reinstall a factory set of torsion keys and THEN install the 4" lift spindles. The spindles will give you the same lift if not more than the leveling torsion keys, and they won't cause your ball joints to be at wonky angles like "leveling/lift" torsion keys do.

x3,

I didn't see anything saying if you had a 2x or a 4x.

There are right ways to do things and the Compromised way to do things.

The right way is new spindles !

That's because no one makes them

Now you know why nobody recommends them, except the guys that sell them.

Well I’ll be buying myself the 4” spindle w a 2”shackle for the rear. I’d like the truck to be lvl. I’m going to crank down the keys that I have on and keep them. Can’t really return or sell them. I’ll ask my mechanic about what would be best and what would add some reinforcement. Idk if the block I have on will work together w the shackle or I have to take it off. But yea I’ve looked around for the spindle kit and found a good one. Thanks for all the great info guys.

I think it is the best idea to replace the Spindles.
2" of rear block in the rear is the max I would run.

Good Luck on the lift.
