Need some clarification

Alright i have been looking for the last 4 days through old threads so it isn't like i haven't searched but so anyway here is what i need clarified because I want lift but am cheap:

1)I have a 2000 4x2 NOT edge, just an xlt, so that means i don't have torsion bars? Which mean lifting a little isn't an option that was,

2)so then i there is body lift but not sure about that, and there are spindle lifts such as by fabtech (okay this part i have really searched much about, it was more the torsion stuff), which could i just buy the spindles and maybe an add a leaf but leave stock springs and shocks to save a little now then by the better springs and shocks down the road if/when these go? or spend the little bit more and just get the all around better setup?

3) and is this all over kill? i mean i don't wanna kill gas mileage so i only have like 32's(my rims are 15x7 and i have no idea the back spacing because the last owner put them on not me)?

i would just leave it stock and have 31's but i don't really want the tires to rub unless it is some REALLY extreme situation, and 30's seem sorta boringly small. i don't know oppinions recommendations, and clarifications of what i can/should do are all i am looking for

Do it all at once would be the best way and minimize your down time on the truck. Shocks are a must with any lift whether it be body or susp. IMO.

01-07 EDGE/SPORT 2wd & 4x4, XLT 4x4, XL 4x4 have torsion bars. 2wd XLT and 2wd XL have coil sprung front suspension.

You'll find spindles for your truck. The 01+ spindles are designed with an abs bracket or something......so you'll want a '98-00 spindle. There's a guy here that has a truck similar to yours.....spindle lift, green w/ 32" BFGs.
