Possible Build

Hey guys, I am wanting to build a weekend warrior for overlanding and camping. I have done some research but not too much. I am have no experience in offroading or building a rig for it, but i want to learn. I am looking for feedback and on this idea i have and possible feedback. When it comes to the front axle i want to SAS d44, i need some recommendations for the gearing. I also don't fully know what is needed with this swap. For the rear axles, i want a 8.8 ford with Detroit auto lockers, 31-spline conversion and disc conversion. Any recommendations on this swap is also appreciated. Than i was think a 3" suspension lift combined with a 2" body lift. Last thing, i am planning on running some 33's or 35's. it depends on what you guys think is.

Welcome to the forum

Solid axle swap with Dana 44 info here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...y/Dana44.shtml

For rear axle you can use Explorer 8.8" it came with 31-spline and disc brakes

Gear ratio needs to be the same in both front and rear of course, 4.10 would be the lowest you would want, but 4.56 would be better for tires over 32"

Thanks for the reply, do you know if any year of the Ford explorer axles will work, or is there a specific year that is recommended? Can I just bolt it up, or will I need brackets or a lot when doing the swap?

Explorer 1993 to 2001 axles, you need to cut off and reweld on the spring perches and shock mounts, same type of thing as you will have to do on the Dana 44 front axle swap

Only "bolt on" axles will be from another Ranger
