Incase some of you havent been following along, im installed a pieced together ~5.5 in suspension lift on my 99 4x2 with some lvl 2 rims with 31s


oh, enough info, now, my question is, how do i messure for new shocks?

I assume i messure the droop and compressed, but what do i messure from? and do i do it without a shock on? i assume a stock shock will limit you droop


so whats the tips?


And im looking for a shock that will handle well on 90% daily driving and 10% offroading, got any inmind?

im not sure how to measure for the shock length, when i got my new shocks i just told them how much lift was gained b the new suspension... but for you it may be differnt because, if i remeber correctly, u are putting on new springs, arms, etc... so thats gonna change the travel so im not sure....

you could probably call 4 wheel parts and tell them your situationa nd maybe they could get you the correct length shock for like a 5.5" lifted fabtech coil/arm suspension ranger

i have to recommend the rancho rs9000 9 way adjustable shocks... they are just as good for street as they are offroad.... u can set the front more firm and the rear soft or vice versa, depending on conditions/loads... i have mine set firm up front (7 settting) which gives it wayyyyy better handling and feel and makes the ride less bouncy, but not rough at all, the rear is set of soft (1 or 2 setting) so it doesnt ride soo rough without a load in it... i think the ranchos are the best overall shock by far
