Hey everyone, I searched but didn't see anyone with a similar issue. I installed a 4'' suspension lift in my truck about a year ago. I installed new leaf springs about 6 months ago (lifted ones) that were stronger and stiffer. Unfortunately, the bottom leaf will not stay aligned. Everytime I hit a hard bump, the rear portion of the bottom leaf will shift to the driver side. This causes the front portion of the bottom leaf to "knock" against the sway bar end links.

I wasn't sure if something had been installed incorrectly, or if there was a bracket I had to buy/make to keep the leafs aligned. Has anyone had a similar issue or been able to fix this? I heard there is a "pin-type" hole where a rod will normally sit to keep them aligned, but i didn't see one on either leaf.

 

There is supposed to be a centering pin/bolt in the middle of the leafs to hold them together.

He is talking about the overload getting crooked not the centering pin. It twists and then isn't parallel with the rest of the leafs...

Mine has always done the same with my 4" Skyjacker leafs.

Best you can do is get some of the leaf spring clamps (or make some) that any 4WD shop should have in stock.

Google leaf spring clamps and you will see what I mean. You need two per side so four total. Thats what I did and it has worked great. only thing is that it slightly makes the ride harsher.

 

Yeah idk what that was about lol or what I was even thinking lol. I think I had just got a text for toreador4x4 about a rear spring issue that said that in the text and I guess I just typed that instead of something about his actual question. F me lol. But glad you could help him out.
