RCD measurements(very long)
This post made me think about replacing my springs. My front is also sitting lower then the rear and the ride is getting much softer. So, looking at Summit, I would need these?

Is there another site that has them in stock?
Also, how does the coil-over come apart? Will I need to compress the spring to take it apart and then put it back together with the new spring?

i have had mine apart, andi dont see how he could have gotten those 14" springs on the bils w/o using a spring compressor. id be worried about coil bind w/the amount of preload they would hafta have as well at only 550lbs.
once again, RCDs bil c/o uses a 12x2.5x600 coil over spring. you can replace it with any 12x2.5 coil at whatever rate you choose.
if you want to run 14" springs look into the fox replacements

time to dig this back up.
i ordered my new coils today. my supplier was out of 700's and 650's, so i am gettin 750# hypercoils. should show up wednesday. my front ride height has continued to sag and is over 1.5" lower than when i installed the kit(and it was low then).
while it is apart, i guess i will reinforce the diff bracket everyone is cryin about.....

I just got my springs, I'll put them in this weekend. One question, how does the coil-over come apart? Do you have to back the adjuster nut all the way out or does the other side come off. By looking at the link from the guy with the explorer, it looks like the other side somehow comes off.
i jus finished installin mine. you will need a spring compressor to get them on. its a PITA.
the cup does come off, but you hafta relieve all the tension in the spring in order to remove it. the spanners will not come off the body. the threads arent extended far enough

before; 40.5" rear 38.5" front
it was nearly level when i installed the lift

after; 40.5" rear 40" front

and some pics of the springs

well i would hope that should have a fully threaded body coil over on it. the reason this bilstein version is so difficult is that the body is only half threaded. the spanner wont come all the way off the bottom. the threads that are on the body are about 1/2" too short to make 12" spring changes easy.
yep, im digging it up..
im lookin at getting new coils here soon..
and the 650s are tooo soft for me, and i need something stronger for my winch, im thinking 12" 800# Eibachs any opinions on 900? maybe 850# Hypercoils?

^^you might want to figure out what the extra weight is on the front and contact the company you are buying the springs from. I would think without the winch on the front, the truck would ride like a log wagon with 850# coils in it...
