I just finished installing Monroe gas shocks on my friend's 99 ranger 2WD, and noticed that the rear passenger side shock touches the brake line going to that wheel. Anybody have a suggestion as to how to prevent eventual damage to both of these components? The brake line is very rigid, but could I possibly bend it out of the way?

 

Its one of those ranger things. Mine used to do that when i had shocks down there. You can bend it but be very careful not to kink it.

 

The drivers side ebrake cable rubbed against the frame and shock, I just used a zip tie to keep it held back.

I had the same problem. Just used a Zip Tie. Easy as that.

 

Ford used to put springs on the lines at these locations to keep them from rubbing and getting the way of other mechanical parts. Not too sure what year your Ranger is (OP) but it may be a result of Ford's many cutbacks on the Rangers (if it's a newer model). My 01 has them, but the zip ties help them out.
