Sas Kits for Rangers

I am starting a new Thread so i do not cluter up any other threads…

Got an E-Mail today from James Duff about SAS Conversion Kit for 2003 Rangers.

He said not yet but it is in the works.

From JD:
"We break it down to 83 97 is gen 1 2 and 3,98 to 01 is gen 4 and your 03 would be gen 5,sorry about that. But we will get into it sometime, keep watching”.

Interesting his Generation Years…
Which frames are the same, I was sure up to 1997, and then 1998 to 2005 at least maybe all the way to 2011.

This is the location for most of the stuff they now have but there is hope for newer stuff.

Any comments ?

Members with newer gen Rangers that want SAS Kits need to write to James Duff, tell him you want a kit and mention the Site.

thks/ltr

This kit will also work on the 98-00 body style as well.

That'd be pretty cool to be able to buy a kit to SAS. I'd definitely be interested!

Yup... I'd be down. Screw a superlift and coilovers... I want to SAS. A kit would save a LOT of headaches and searching for parts too.

As far as suspensions on Ranger go:

83-97
2WD Twin i-beams
4x4 Twin Traction Beam

98-11
2WD Coil Spring
4x4 Torsion Bar

Seriously. It's that simple. If you start including the different axles and stuff it's a little more complicated (Dana 28 to 35 in 93 V6s, PVHs to AVHs in 2000 1/2) but the way the frames were setup didn't change except in 1997 and considering that if you SAS you cut all the suspension stuff off it wouldn't matter anyway.

The Frame shape will be the gating factor.
That is why I am hoping when JD, IF JD, comes out with the kit for what they call GEN 3 Ranger, then it will fit the 01s thru 03s.

Only hoping here, may not happen but it keeps the hopes up !

The steering setup is too much of a liability.

i'd certainly like to see this happen, even if I wouldn't immediately be available to buy it.

I think e-mails to them would be good and yes I did not know the frame changed either but it is their list of Gen 1,2,3.

I am hoping if they build one for the 98-00 Ranger we will all make out.

Nothing here except they are working on the later models.

I am hoping for 03 to get a kit soon.

Don't hold your breath on the JD stuff. If you really wanna SAS the truck it would be better for you in the end to piece it together.
