Shock Fitiment Help

Hi guys!
I am about to order some shocks for my rear of my truck. I am looking into the fox shox but am confused of why they say the are for 2wd only... That shouldnt matter being a rear shock only right? Anyways, on to the next question, I was going to purchase either one of these just to go for it even though they say 2WD... What is the difference in price though? There the same 2-3" lift and everything but why is there such a price difference???

Off Road Warehouse - Fox Shox Performance Series Rear Shock 2-3'' Lift for 1998-2011 Ford Ranger 2wd

Off Road Warehouse - Fox Shox Factory Series Rear Shock 2-3'' Lift for 1998-2011 Ford Ranger 2wd

Thanks guys!

The 4wd drive shocks are longer because the 4wd sits higher.

So would they work? If they are meant to acommidate 2-3" of lift they should work right? Also, if installing 2" shackles do you need to get longer shocks???
