Ok im installing my new shocks on the front of my o3 xlt, a arm suspension.... and im having a really difficult time compressing the a arm, i already have the shocks put in but all i need to do now is compress and tightn but its kickin my ***......do i need to remove tire on side im compressing??
No I'm just trying to figure out your problem. You have the tire on and everything connected I don't know what your problem is. Take a picture or something. Or a little better explanation.
Your shock shouldn't be holding your front suspension together.

thing was a pain......... anyone know if explorer coils fit on rangers???? im asking because my truck had explorer shocks, and im wondering if these coils were explorer too. Any feedback would be cool, Thanx.
I've changed shocks on my old 94 Ranger twice and once on my 2008 FX4 and there's no need to compress the a-arms or do anything like that. If you had to do that, you either have the wrong shocks or there is something not standard on your Ranger front suspension.
