I have a 95 ranger 4x4 extended cab with a 3 in body lift and I can't decide if I wanna put a 3 in or 4 in suspension lift on it with 33's cause i'd rather not put 35's cause I don't wanna kill the power. I'll post pics tonight of how it looks already

 

1 word for you if you really want 35's.....GEARING........

with 33's, i would go with a 4" suspension and 3" body.....i ran a 6" suspension lift with 33's and it looked great.....i am running 35's with 9" of lift (6" suspension and 3" body) and wouldn't put on larger tires....

 

how will the truck be used? do you plan to wheel much or just a street queen?

 

the reason i am saying a 4" suspension lift is because the ONLY company that makes a 3" suspension lift for a '97 and older Ranger is James Duff, and they are PRICEY! you can get a Skyjacker 4" Class II lift with extended radius arms and new leaf springs for what a base 3" kit from James Duff cost....

run 4.56's for gearing, and you shouldn't lose too much power with 35s

 

James Duff is just over priced.....the Skyjacker stuff is just as good as the Duff stuff (i made a ryme)......99% of Rangers on TRS and Pirate are running Skyjacker Class II lift parts......IMO and the opinion of many others, Skyjacker IS the best on the market for a TTB suspension....

 

you can run 36s if you want seen pics, its SICK!

While you may find a better deal on the Skyjacker Class II kit somewhere else, its only a $157 difference. Personally, I'm still deciding between the two, determining which one would perform and hold up the best offroad. I kinda like how the Duff Stage 2 has dual shocks for the front, but don't like how they are mounted (this can be changed by ordering their Coil Bucket w/ Dual Shock Mounts). The Skyjacker kit comes with bumpstops which are often overlooked and looks like you could easily upgrade to a their taller coils pretty easily.

Otherwise both seem like good quality kits...

 

well i will tell you now that Summit is the WORST place to buy a lift.....they are really high on the lifts.......
