I just got my overtime check! now my truck informs me that it needs new upper ball joints! (Well the guy doing the front end aliament did.) He quoted me a price of 331.81 for replacement and the alliament includ uncle sams chunk.sounds fair? not sure if my truck needs the control arm setup or just the ball joint it self. O I have a 2000 2.5 2wd coil susp. And if any one cares i will have enough money left over for a sixer(beer)

Why do you need an alignment? I have done ball joints lots of times and don't do alignments every time.

But either way that is a good price for all that.

Just to change the ball joints I don't always do it. To do the whole arm I do though.

You should be able to press the old joints out and new ones in (I did on my 99 2wd). It can be done for less than $175, including ball joints and renting the press from Advance Auto Parts.
