squeaky squeaky ranger

Icon8 squeaky squeaky ranger

Squeaks alot and rides rough off road. The boots dont look right to me.but the bolts are weilded on.
i put new shocks on all way round my 99 2wd ranger v6 3.0

Look at the spring end under the main leaf in the pic.
That's where the squeak is coming from.
Jack up the frame and let the axle hang. If you can , pressure wash the leaf pack , let dry a little , then shoot some lube between the leaves.Especially at the ends.
It won't last long , but it'll be quieter .At least until you can find some pads that'll fit the hole in the end of the spring.

man those bushings look fawkd!! the spring actually looks like its metal on metal to the hanger

I've never messed with the leaves, but look at the top of the leaf "eye on the bottom and top compared to the rubber bushing...there's some play in there.

Edit: also, the bolt going through the leaf eye is not even close to centered. oh, and you have a '99...I'll have to look at mine now
