Starting of something clean.....?

Hey guys,

Obviously new here.

I've been on and off the forums for a little while now, just reading up on somethings. I bought a 04 Level II a couple months ago, and the last little bit I wanted to do something to dress it up a big. Now, I live in big truck country, northern alberta is full of rig workers, and waaaay too much money, some of the things I have seen have just been rediculous in terms of truck modification.

So, with that said. I would like to do something simple with my ranger, its still clean looking, no paint chips, rims are the Alcan, aluminums. I think 31" tires on it now.

I would like to lift it, but I don't want anything way out there, just something that wont show all the under carage, but makes it a little more fun you know?

Here it is.

Im very envious of you because you have a Level II. Just to let you know if you didn't already-you have the top-of-the-line Ranger. Those Alcoa 15x7 wheels, stainless sttel "J" hooks, black interior, Torsen limited slip rear diff, 31" BFGs don't come on just any Ranger from the factory! You have a nice start there!

If you want slight mods, go with 32" BFG KM2 Mud Terrains to give it a nice beefy look like this:

(these are not mounted on that truck yet. But that is what a 32" MK2 looks like on Alcoa Wheels)

If you want a lift, just go get a summit or Performance Acessories 3" Body lift, but run 33s if you do that. Have that front windo tinted to match back factory tint. Maybe run a Line of Fire LED strip in the space between tailgate and back bumper. Also, to really freshen it up-go buy you a set of 06+ Ranger Taillights and 06+ Ranger Clear Corners like so:

cant think of anything else right now

That my friend looks nice.

I just got done taking off the mud flaps, and removing the air intake silencer this morning, washed and waxed. looks like a new truck. :D

I like those KM2's are very nice looking, like I say, nothing fancy, yet I guess. :D

thats for the input man.

nice lookin truck man. your options for lifting are pretty much the 3" body lift mentioned above or the 4" superlift. body is $200 and the superlift is $1600. since you said you "something that wont show all the under carage" i suggest the superlift but the body lift doesn't show much at all on rangers especially if you have step bars.

There's plenty of interior mods you can do, like an OHC. Niteshading your tails makes a diff too

they have been on since sunday morning. look in the livonia MI meet thread.

welcome to the site. nice truck. lots of great info on here. personally i'd rock a 4" suspension before the body lift but it's all preference. some people say our truck actually hides the BL (body lift) gap better then others.
there is also a thread about getting rid of the torsion bars and putting in coilovers. i haven't read that much into it yet, but it's an option non the less.

the newer tails would look good on that truck and alot better then those alteeza POS ones that some people get.

So, to be perfectly honest, I'm a little turned around on all of what I can do to the truck.

Will I need to do anything major If I get some of the BFG KM2's? Also, new tires and a Tbar crank would give me a couple inchs right?

You could do a T-bar crank and either fit KM2s in 31x10.50 or step up to a 32x11.50.
Also, loving the truck, looks almost identical to mine, haha.

I think it would be nice with 32", but I would need to crank my T-bar to the max right, thats gonna make a stiff ride isn't it?

Well, I got out today and tried cranking that T-bar, but to no avail. I tried wd-40ing it and I just can't get it to budge.

Now that I've got on here, and finding all the things I can do more less for free, I've been on a frenzie. Took out the air silencer, removed mud flaps, bug catcher is gone and now Im just trying to get the tbar cranked up some. Maybe let it soak up some wd-40 and try again.

Also, I either have a really strong grip, or ****ty sockets :D
I ended up breaking two. but I was really coming on to the thing, luckily it didn't strip, but Im a little nervous to really come on to it for that reason.
