steering is jumping around a bit. what is it

steering is jumping around a bit. what is it

my 99 4wd ext cab xlt ranger's steering is jumping around when driving. i have brand new stock 245/75/16 tires on it. the wheels are fine. everything is stock. any idea of what could be causing this?

Maybe the wheel is not balance even...

Or mud on the rims...

and at what speeds does it do it...

Did it do it before the new tires...

i dont know.. the truck had some light front end damaged when i bought it...i didnt not get into the frame. i havent drove it except in the parking lot. tires are clean wheels are clean. and just balanced

Most likely your toe-in adjustment is out. If you get toe-d out just a bit, the steering wants to wander. I would get an alignment and it'll probably be fine.

thats weird...

but like you said you got the front end damaged... i dunno what to say...

maybe the last owner sold it because of that...

My steering wheel jumps to... arounnd 65and 75...

I have aftermarket wheel with M/T tires....
