the TJ that scored the highest..

99ranger4x4 04-22-2009 07:33 PM

and you know wheel base is factored RTI score, so you may have scored higher, but they may have gone higher.

Tys 4x4 FTW 04-22-2009 07:35 PM

oh yeah i know, i went higher then quite a few, but they also had shorter wheel bases lol

brianjwilson 04-23-2009 07:51 AM

Sway bars on or off?

zabeard 04-23-2009 07:55 AM

me? i left the front on. i think i'll disconnect it next week and see if i do any better

Downey 04-23-2009 12:46 PM

how is it measured? like what the formula??

Tys 4x4 FTW 04-23-2009 01:12 PM

The test proceeds as the vehicle attempts to climb the ramp as high as possible with a single front or rear tire without lifting a wheel off the ground. The distance the vehicle can travel up the ramp without loosing contact with the ground is measured from the leading edge of the ramp itself to the point on the ramp just below the center of the hub of the wheel on the ramp. The distance is measured up the ramp and on the ramp, not to the actual hub of the wheel. That number is the divided by the vehicles wheelbase and then multiplied by 1000 to calculate the average. For example if a vehicle with a 81 inch wheelbase traveled 59 inches up a 20 degree ramp then the RTI would be calculated as: 59 divided by 81 x 1000 = 728 (rounded down). This method of multiplying by the vehicle's wheelbase allows vehicles of different wheelbases to compete with each other on the same ramp.

brianjwilson 04-23-2009 01:18 PM

You would have gotten atleast a few extra inches with the front sway bar disconnect.
Plus you could always cheat and air down, lol.
Zach I would be interested to see what kind of numbers you could pull off with the ranger!

Tys 4x4 FTW 04-23-2009 02:45 PM

yeah seriously zach, that thing flexes great

you need to find an rti ramp and post up your score!

Zach won't do it!! haha
"he knows it'll do what he designed it to do" :fing26:

Mine scored about yey much, before the front limit straps though.. Once i get more uptravel up front, and get the driveshaft figured out i should get a little more.

oh yea, its in 2wd, open rear diff, 3.50s. no need for 4wd, my tire was about to leave the ground and the tire slipped.
