Time for new hangers and some expo springs

Going to put some explorer leaf springs on since my truck has a rake to it which I would rather be point down then leaning back. My springs are worn out. I am wanting to replace the shackles and hangers before I move to Arkansas in 3 weeks since the place I will live at won't let me work on vehicles there. Also I won't have all of my tools with me. Got the bed off and shocks off and started to break loose the bolts for the leaves tonight but broke my impact socket on the first chatter so got to go get a new one tomorrow morning. Plan to have this done tomorrow. Also, finally got to do a break loose both tires without the bed on. That was fun :) On with pics so far.

Got to love rust. Luckily this is the only bad place. None really on the body at all but a small spot starting on the inside of the tailgate. Not bad for 170,000 miles on it.

Bah, those ain't anywhere near as bad as mine were... hangers with holes rusted through and one collapsed shackle. A shock with a hole in it.

You could've put some more miles on them, but yeah, getting the hind end of the truck up and proper is important. The 'california look' isn't that great anyhow...

I figure replace them before they get worse and before I am somewhere where I don't have the ability to work on it.

I ran out of time this evening since I had plans to go out with some buddies. Have the hangers swapped and one leaf spring on. Put the last one on tomorrow then I'll post some pictures.

Good idea... preventative measures can not only prevent problems in some area you don't want to be stuck, and prevents major headaches as well.

Have fun out there... reckon you're doing some barhopping? lol.

Well here is the final product. Don't know how I feel about it. I haven't had time to take it out yet to see how it rides buts its definitely taller in the back. No more Cali-lean. Wish it was an inch lower though. Might try and lift the front or just get better Ranger leaves from the yard since mine are shot.
