Torsion bar crank - What am I doing wrong?

I've got my truck up on jack stands, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to crank the bars up an inch, or so, to level things off. The problem is, I've cranked that bolt about 7 full revolutions now and the front end hasn't budged at all. The measurement is still the same, on the point....

if you have cranked the right bolt, the measurement will not change with the truck on jackstands. the suspension is hanging and that distance will not change. set the truck on the ground, drive it for a mile or two and re-measure

Ah, thank you. I assumed that, as I cranked the bolt, the suspension would drop...

I thought the same thing. When you set it down you will see the difference.
