torsion key flip

i'm thinking about doing it, i heard that it's actually safe. My question is their a good chance of it messing up anything if i occasionally take it to the 1/8 mile track *nothing big, just bolt ons ect*.

also does loosening the torsion bar and flipping the keys make it any lower than just flipping the keys?
