Turning a 2WD into A 4WD?

I wanna make my 94 2wd 2.3 5speed ext. cab truck into a 4wd. Someone told me all I need is a 4wd donor and the parts will inner change. Does anyone know if thats true? It would be sweet to a have 4wd gas saver.

The way I have heard it, the 2.3L, at least in my 94, is not powerful enough to handle the extra everything asociated with 4WD, so you's need a V6. And the 2.3L's tranny is not intended to handle the power of the V6's. So, from what i have HEARD you will need the engine, tranny, and all the other stuff

They made 4x4 2.3L trucks but I believe they were all regular cabs. Don't see why you couldn't convert though. 4LO would be plenty to overcome the 2.3's lack of power.
