Update on Lowering My Ride

Well as you all should know I had my Edge lowered by flipping the keys and the rear axle. Well once we got done with it we noticed 2 slight problems. 1. was that the rear sat lower then the front not really a big deal it was off not even by an inch. 2. that the passenger front side sat higher then the drivers aka "Ranger lean." Well I was kinda bored today so I decided to fix the lean issue so I break out the ole grinder and go to work on notching the X-member. Long story short 1 1/2hrs later got everything filed down and put back together and I measure to see if I did it, and success the passenger + drivers side now sit at 29 1/2". The rear sits at 29" so thats only 1/2" difference which I dont think is that noticable.

haha, if I posted pics u wouldnt be able to really tell a difference between them this is one of those times pics are worthless and measuring is the only way to tell the difference.

Wait a second, how did you fix the lean with your grinder? The lean is a weight issue with the gas tank and battery etc all on one side....

Ive never heard of that b4 but all I did was raise the torsion key up off the plate so I could grind down the area where the plate rests against makin the key sit lower thus giving the truck more drop on the side that sat higer than the other. Besides my battery and gas tank are on my driver's side the passenger side is the one that sat higher.

duh...

if the gas tank and battery are the issue, it would lower your driver's side, in turn making your pass. side higher...

For some reason I dont think thats wut caused my lean im not saying all that weight didnt play a part in the lean im sure it did but with all that weight from the gas tank battery and everything else on the driver's side it would have made the driver's side sit a lot lower than the passenger and the passenger's side was only a quarter of an inch higher then the driver's side but who know's im just glad it's gone.

Haha and no my truck is no where near bagged i wish it was but i dont feel like pumping 7k into my suspension to have it lay'd out at the moment my name on here is just wishful thinking for the future

1. How long did you let your new setup settle? 2. What else would have caused the lean if not the battery and weight? 3. You should change your name j/k :)

I let it settle about 3 weeks. I dunno wut else would have caused it I the guy that dropped it for me said about every truck he had delt with leaned alittle after it was lowered so for me to expect it to happen to mine so I just figured it was a natural thing. Im waitin to see if the aftermarket will ever come out with a bolt on torsion bar airbag kit like they have out now for the coil spring trucks cuz right now air bagging an Edge is way to expensive just for the simple fact that it has to be a custom setup.

They wont, people have been dealing with torsion bars for MUCH longer than an Edge has been around and they havnt made a kit yet so there should be no hope for one in the future really.
