Vibration, loss of steering...

2005 ford ranger 2.3 2wd automatic: Just when I’m trying to move forward on cool add-ons I’m having front end issues. When I steer left or right (doesn’t have to be fully cranked) there is a vibration in the steering wheel. When parked it feels like the wheel has good pressure/ tension on it ( it feels normal except for the vibration) This happens moving or parked. When I got a bump, it feels like I temporarily loose steering. After putting the truck up I noticed the ball joint boots on all 4 control arms are torn. My experience with the ball joints being damaged or worn is a “clunking” sound or feeling. I’ve had torn boots on ball joints before and had zero issue like this so I’m trying to rule out one or the other. God help me if it’s both! What are your thoughts? Also, can a damaged steering box cause the vibration also?
The vibration I’m trying to describe feels like jerking the wheel left to right or vice versa. Not like the wheel is literally vibrating.
Thanks for any thoughts.

My first thought is a loose power steering pump belt.
