If its a auto you'll be fine with 4.56s. I'd look into swapping in a Explorer 8.8 with disc brakes. Its stronger and you'll get the added braking power which will be great with those bigger tires.

Thats not a bad idea...so if i were to get that 8.8 with disk brakes. wha year explorer do i take from? an then when i go to purchase the gears i would then tell them that i got an 8.8 rear instead?

Yes you would purchase gears for the 8.8. Do a search about what year Explorers I dont know off the top of my head. summitracing.com has everything you need for installing the gears.

Yeah if your doing stock IFS suspension up front on the conversion a 8.8 will be more than enough. Now if your going to like a D44 or something then I would look at upgrading lol.

Whats IFS suspesion? and D44? lol. this is all new to me sry. cause this is wha i plan to do in order...

-spindle lift with AAL an drop shackles, with an 8.8 rear an 4.56 gears, an body lift with 35's ( ill be riding with this for awhile cause i know 4wd conversion isnt to cheap)

-then go with 4wd conversion and a 5.0L out of an explorer (an if anyone can give me a list of everything i would need to complete it..or maybe a link, cause i suck at the search option. lol)

-change my 2wd spindles to 4wd spindles.

-then get a 4wd SL.

An BAM! Shes done...? lol (sounds too simple..lol.. i dunno)

IFS is Independent Front Suspension that comes stock on Rangers. a D44 or Dana 44 is a solid front axle(SFA), you would have to do a Solid Axle Swap(SAS) to run one. Lol thats a little over your head. If your intrested theres a couple members on this site that have done SAS's just search for it. Here's a great thread about swapping a 5.0 into a 2003 Ranger: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=44326. Your plan sounds good, you got your work cut out for ya!

O yeah theres alot to do... it'll be awhile till its all done.. but i jus wanna make sure im doin it right the first time so i want end up having to spend more an more money down the road ya know.

But was i right on haveing to change the spindles to 4wd spindles?

An i then can get the Superlift cause thats only for 4wds right?

I don't know much about swapping to 4wd, 04 EDGE and Razorsedge have both done it, search for their thread about the swap. 04 EDGE has a really good couple threads in the Project Logs about his swap, check those out. Once you complete the swap you can swap in the Superlift or whatever other lift you want to use. The RCD (Race Car Dynamics) gives you 5.5" of lift and swaps the front suspension to use coil overs instead of torsion bars which will give you a much better ride. The lift kit is more expensive and a lot more work than the Superlift, but thats another option.

will be a nice set up. and won't looked stuff. like they've said, just regear and you shouldn't have a problem with turning those tires. you'll save that tranny as well. longer brake lines might be needed though. or at least unbolt them from the frame.
