30s on stock height?
 

My stocker tires are about worn out, so in a few thousand miles they are gonna have to be replaced. I am thinking about stepping up in height a bit, but im not planning to do a lift or anything. not now, and not in the near future, dont want the MPG hit till i have a company car.

So the question is, will 30s look weird on a stock height 2WD 04 XLT? if they do, what are you guys running, got pics? stock height pics preferred. Id LIKE to lift it, but being a driver, and the fact that i have another project car that means more to me the Ranger isnt going to get any investment like that any time soon.

yeah 30s will fit, might rub a bit on full lock.

it will be tight, im kinda tossed on it. my grandpa has a 99 ranger xlt, the 30s at times seem too big for stock, but it works.

thats a stock 08 FX4, so its lower than other fx4's...might be close to stock xlt hight of your year. im pretty sure they would fit pretty easy

op didnt mention if he has a 2wd or 4x4...i assume 2wd coil sprung ranger....because 4x4s come stock with 30.5's...


I like the way 235/75r15's look on stock 2wd coil sprungs.

i like how your wheels look, and the tires look good too. I am sure im a bit lower though and of course no flares. Will they fit my car though? i thought 4wd models had a different offset or hub config or something than the 2ws units.

A really simple thing to do.. Buy a GOOD set of touring radials, NOT ' Light truck tires '. Goodyear Eagles or BFG all season radials work well, have little to no road noise and if maintained, will outlast most of the ' offroad ' types of tires out there. They will be MUCH better in rain and non-dry conditions on pavement where most of your driving happens.

thanks haha, yea they are stock. im pretty sure they would fit you. find sombody with an 07 or 08 4x4 and the tires and rims will be close to the ones on mine if not the same. The tires can go on a 4x2 or a 4x4, tires wise there isnt a differance, just clearance. they just put bigger tires on stock 4x4s.

like my tires, fine on the road, no noise. i very rarely go off roading. they can go off road though.

Actually 4x4's are 2" higher than 4x2's.

agreed. 235/75r15. or like 245/60r15. similar to those sizes.

true, but my truck is the perfect example...sits 1.25 inches lower than other years...they did that with the 08' 4x4's. and they still put bigger tires on them

Nice.... I like how that looks. just a hair taller than stock, but avoids being too big. I might just go with the 235 setup and live with that. I like the taller ones, but after the pics i dont know if i can pull off the look without the flares.

I guess ill do that then. I also want to get my wheels powdercoated black as well. go for the cop car look. lol

yea....my old work truck ranger, had 235/75r15's on it when i quit. i drove it with 225/75r15's...and those 235's looked just right on there. slightly "ovesize"...but still lookin' good.

Id say it's the equivilent of a 4x4 guy putting on 265/75R16's.

Yeah it looks good. If it was only a 4x4 though....


Who am I kidding? If i had a 4x4 Id use it. Then things get expensive fast. I have enough draining my wallet and its name is 428 FE for the Cougar.
