Automatic Transmission DELAY into drive
Automatic Transmission DELAY into drive
Recently I aquired a '99 dark green ExtCab 4x4 OffRoad XLT Ranger with 140k on the clock. I'm having a trans issue which I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that may be an ez (aka: inexpensive) fix.
The transmission, when shifted into DRIVE, will take about 5 seconds to engage unless first placed into the "1" position which engages the trans immediately ... overall the trans appears to shift smoothly between gears and does-not slip while driving.
The shifter has an OD button, which I depressed, however it does not affect the initial engagement. I also checked the fluid, it looks like it could use a change.
The previous owner was unable to offer maintenance advice as he owned it for a short time due to loss of license ... appreciate any advice (before I start visiting trans shops), thanks, -dp-

I located a shop to see if they could check this valve body gasket out for me..., they hooked it up to a computer... these are the codes its throwing:
C1752 vss output Short to ground
C1751 vss output short to Batt
B1304 acc delay relay coil short
B1302 Acc Delay relay coil circuit fault
B1410 LF power window motor fault
B1352 Ingition Key in circuit fault..
The winds, the AC? The speedometer all work...... what gives?
