16'' Offroad Tires

I need a good set of aggressive looking and performing tires. My buddies like to go offroad, and so do I... but I can't hang with the ****ty goodyears.

Now, I have an FX4, but it has 245/75/16s on there. At least I think that's the correct size. Am I better off investing in a set of 15'' wheels and some tires? I am looking into the Firestone Destination M-Ts with some Eagle Alloys or M/T Classic IIs. Any thoughts?

I'm sure that this subject has been beaten like a dead horse. I also need to know if my computer needs to be reflashed because of a tire difference.

Thanks.

Jason

Try searching. 15" tires will cost less than an equivalent 16" tire, so if you get 15" wheels you'll save money in the long run. Find some you like.

I personally love the BFG all-terrain. It's a well-performing on-road, off-road tire (about a 70-30 ratio is what I do) and it wears well also.

If you get oversized tires, your speedometer will be inaccurate.

But not by very much, I've read about 5 MPH @ 70 MPH going from 31's (Stock LVLII) to 33's.

Dunlop mud terrains. 105$ a peice in 33x12.50. Don't go buy a whole new set of wheels so you can save 10$ a tire. Thats rediculous. Keep the 16's, everyone else changes to 15.

prefect tire size if you want no rubbing . and if you want to crank the t-bars a little you can put 285x75x16 and if you dont offroad like everyday the BFG a/t is a good tires BUT in the 16" rims they are expansive i would know i have them

I like Sport King A/Ts. They are made by a daughter company of BFGoodrich, I believe, and I find them to work a lot better than BFG A/Ts in muddy situations.
