Fitment Concern

As many know, I want 37's really badly. I can possibly get my hands on a 86 f150 on 40" boggers, 351, etc (built truck) for about 3k. Not too shabby for what it is. So my boggers on my ranger idea is out the door...

I'm thinking that 37's won't fit now though. I have 3.5" clearance at the tightest place on my front for both the valence and the fender flare.

BFG AT's run a little small (well all bfg's do) so I figure I have 3" all the way around, if I run a 37, I will have 1" clearance...think I will rub? When I take a corner I think I will...

It looks like 37" MT/R's or SSR's will be it if I do run 37's, if not, Baja MTZ's in 35 or MT/R in 35...either way, I'm getting new tires pretty soon.

15x10

the MTR measures 36.8.

I don't know anyone local with bigger than 35's.

I was thinking about the SSR Radials also...they measure a true 37.2.

I'm out to do some measuring...

with your lift i wouldn't run 37's until you can get glass fenders front & rear! since you like to take your truck off road every now and then, there would be no room for flex with the 37's at all......

Scott D.(big04ranger) has the RCD maxed out on his truck + a 3" body lift with glass fenders upfront and he has 37's.......but the one thing to remember is that he has a 4x4...he sits higher than you from the start....

here is his pics after he got the 37's put on...

From my measurements, I can fit the SSR with .5" to spare on the closest part of where my tire would touch the fender flare...

I dunno if that is enough allowance, I would probably rub on corners (from body roll)

I really like the SSR's though, and 37's would be nice.

Naw, we sit at the same height stock (i think thats what you were saying)

But with the 37's he looks like he has a ton of room...

I wish resqdude was still active around here, he runs 37's on his mazda, same setup as me except his flares are shaped a tiny bit different.

But it is nice to be able to flex...35's would make me able to flex awesome...I really like the baja MTZ's too...

bills clearance:

resqdude's clearance

The only thing that worries me is that resqdude has a mazda, aren't the fenders different?

Bills doens't look like he had that much clearance though, maybe an inch or inch and a half

that blue truck? on 15x8's and 38" swampers?

He fits em b/c of the 15x8's...

I ran my 33's on my susp lift and i had .75" clearance at the closest point, I put on my 15x10's and I rubbed at the closest point...offset makes a huge difference...

I'll prolly go with 35" baja MTZ's, I'm waiting to hear back from John to see how he likes them, I have heard nothing but good about them, they are a nice aggressive pattern too...

Bill's truck only had 7" of lift there also.......and was running 35's......so just imigane what your truck with 37's would be like......

mazada fenders are different and stick out a little more than a rangers.......Gumby has them on the front of his ranger.....

also look at the rear fender clearance.............not just the front...

i will tell you right now that the MTZ's are the ****! they are awsome......my brother has them on his 2000 Cummins.....ride super smooth, quiet, agressive as all get out, get good wear out of them, and they will throw the mud(i know i did it in his truck!)

Pretty much the uniform opinion I have heard about them!

What size does he have???

So bill had less or more lift than me? I'm sitting at 8" front, 7" rear...thats actual measured. I got 3" from the spindles, 2" from the tbars, and the rear was 4" from the shackle/aal, then the 3" bl on top of that...

I will probably end up with the baja MTZ. It kinda looks like a mud grappler

my brother has 305/70/16 (33x12.50x16) on his truck...they are load range D because of the 1 ton truck.........

i dont know about his T bars, but he had 7" in the front with the 4" Superlift and the 3" body lift.....i would say he had about the same lift as you after the T bar crank.....

i think the 35 Baja MTZ's would be a good choice!

35's would def look alot better on your truck considering how nice 33's look, i think 37's are a tad bit overkill and you really dont need them, big04ranger's ranger looks way to tight with them 37's IMO.....

but on the side note, i was running 35's with a body lift, cranked t-bars and shackles and didnt rub one bit.........also on 15x8's though......

the 15x8's is what makes the difference.......when i went from my 33x12.5's on 15x8's to my 35x12.5's on 15x10's then 35's were about 1.75" wider than my 33's.....

honistly i dont see why not, you can fit 35's on a 2wd drive edge spindle lifted... with a body lift you should be fine with 37's arnt you all forgetting the Red edge in FL before its SAS with what was it 38's???

they may fit, but not look good because they would be so "stuffed" in the fenders there wouldn't be any room for flex.....

that would be like saying that beard and bill could fit 35's on their truck with just a body lift.......that would be the same height as a 2wd edge with a spindle lift.....

acully edges get more lift from a spindle then just body remeber its acully 3.5... and idk why but you can fit 35's easy with just spindle on an edge...

then it would have to be more than 3.5" of lift on the spindles then........look at his pictures....35's would be perfect....he needs to have some room to flex....

Get the 37's, you'll regret a smaller tire.

The Mazda fenders are the same.

And since you live in FL, a lot of off-roading is mud or stuff like that. No rocks or big hills that you would need 'flex' for.

trust me...Mazada fenders are not the same as ranger fenders....they have a little more buldge to them over the tire....like a mini pre runner fender.......
