gas mileage with bigger tires

gas mileage with bigger tires

well i just got new 32" BFGs,and it seems like i am getting bad gas mileage,is it me,or do trucks loose gas mileage with bigger tires? thanks.

are you correcting your mileage for the new tires. Your trip/odometer wont have the actual milage you actually went it will be much less.


Going from ~29s to ~32s i add 1 mile for every 10 (so if my trip says 200 im acuall yat 220)

with my 30s i could get 220 miles per tank,32s i get 200 miles per tank,i might have to do more driving, to really see what i am getting.

you need to get a new speedo gear the 93's are controlled by a toothed gear in the side of the trans to correct the speed on the speedo. i get around 220-245 a tank my mpg went from like 22 on the good days to like 18 normally now... i went from like 225x70x14 to 32's

one thing that will extreamly help is ditch those black steel wheels from some alum one's i went from around 17 normally with my rocks to like 18 19 now with the alcoa's
