Getting some new Wheels

Well I just gotta get some wheels that will be a bit different. Even thouth I only have 1500 miles on my new truck. I am getting some FOOSE wheels. I am getting 17's, and I am going to put 255/50 on them. Here is what they look like. they are the Nitrous Old School wheels.

Those wheels will look sweet on your truck! Are you gonna drop it or put a body kit on it?

I love the big wheels w/ big tires look, but 255/50 is WAY too small... that's smaller than the stock tires.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking too. a 255/65 would be okay.

sooner or later I will put side skirts on it and maybe a 2/3 drop.

not true. the stock tires are 225/70/15's and going to 255/50/17's keeps the speedo REALLY close.

I would rather have the real thing, its just the way I am. otherwise, there are plenty of other wheels that look similar. BTW, I am married, but that doesn't matter, you see, my other car in my avitar is my "PLAY THING" my wife has one like it but its black.

Actually, a 225/60/17 would be exactly the same size. For every inch you go up on the wheel you have to subtract 5 from the second number to keep the same size generally. The closest sizes to a 225/70/15 would be either 225/60/17, 235/55/17, 255/55/17, or a 265/50/17. All of those would be within 1 mph of your stock speedo it just depends on what sizes are available for the brand of tire. I hope that helps you some.

thanks, I got that info, but not every size is available, some are out there, but real expensive. the 255/50/17, when the speedo is reading 60 mph, it will really be at 59.2 mph. thats pretty close in my book. the 255/55/17 would be reading higher at 60 by 1.4 mph. of course, some tire calculators are not exact, and I don't which is the best. go figure. lol

what kind of meat are you wrapping them in?

if your speedo accuracy is super important, get a programmer from Jusnes so you can control all of that no matter what and you can unlock some more power.

you may want to go with the taller of the 2 tires you were suggesting, the slightly taller tire will fill the wheel well better, and look better with a drop. i found this out when going from 29 to 32 inch tires on my dropped F150, it just looked so much better.
