I guess this goes back all to the personal opinion, and what you do for your country. Obiously, I love America, I put my life on the line for this country, and YOU all. Sure, some hate the military, some love it. Some join it, some don't.

Not that I am saying you all [not on the site, in general] take a free ride and let everyone elses do the work, but come on -- buy American when you CAN, and you'll be doing your little part to keep this country as strong and happy as it is.

I understand the job issue, Dan. For too many people at my Dad's work have been more or less forced out due to outsourcing to other countries, or some other country willing to do two times the work for half as much. That is another problem in today's world -- everybody wants something for nothing. Just one more thing that pisses me off.

Here I am, doing fairly easy work in the Navy and people around me complain about the work hours, money, where we live and what they do. I have been culprit of it before. Then I go out to Iraq and see the 'real' United States Military doing what they do and I suddenly feel a lot more confortable in my own little world out here in Japan. Sure, they chose to do that type of job in the Military and I chose to do mine, but still, there is a certian degree of fascination.

This is getting way off-topic. It was about tires, not American vs Imported or Foreign. If it was my choice, and I actually could, I'd buy American made everything.

I still can't understand the media-hype about Foreign cars. Sure, they are made well, sure, they resell well. Why? People are made to believe they are the best damn car on the market. I'll go back to my original beef: You take care of it and it will take care of you.

Sure, my Focus SVT had a problem. Ford recognized and fixed it to brand new and I never had another problem with that car. They gave me a very nice loaner and took charge. Sure, it was a minor inconvienence, but who doesnt have them daily!?

I could not buy 'American' here in Japan. Sure, there are a few Ford's, Chevy's, Lincoln's, and stuff running around out here. Want to know how much they are? No, I don't think you do. People like, do anything they can to own one over here! Why? They think the same thing: 'Foreign' car's 'here' last longer and are built better.

Explain that one to me.
