real quick question about factory XLT wheels

ive got an 01 ranger xlt with the off-road package and the 16" alloys. if i get replacement wheels, would they be 16x8's? i think thats right. i dont want them to stick out beyond the fenders. i think i read that the stock wheels were 16x7's so i think 16x8 replacements would be fine but i just wanted to check. thanks!

I would buy 15x8 since the tires are usually cheaper..

Theres plenty of room for 8" wide wheels on a Ranger (I run 17x8,) the big thing to watch out for is the backspacing. You don't want more than 4" of backspacing if you can help it. My wheels have 5.25" backspacing, so I run a 1" spacer/adapter to compensate.. something I occasionally regret. Having too large a backspacing will suck the wheels in towards the frame, and thats where you're likely to have rubbing problems at full-lock turns, plus it looks silly.

well i really appreciate the help guys
a friend of mine works for a tire/wheel place and can get me a really good deal on 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic II's so im probably gonna do that. I was pretty sure 16x8 was right. its a 3.75 backspace.

im not too concerned about tire prices since i dont do any heavy off roading anywas, i really dont need to run any kind of mud terrian tire. i know 16's are more expensive, but i dont think im gonna switch to 15's. but i do appreciata the help!
