Repainting/Clear-coating wheels

Have any of you guys on here that have painted your wheels, clear coated them? I'm going to be repainting my wheels tomorrow and I was going to clear coat them but I didn't want to if it's going to turn out like ****. So if you've got any experience with clear coating wheels, feel free to post up advice and/or pictures.

Clear coating wheels is very tricky to do. Every wheel I have had professionally sprayed with clear coat has eventually failed. Even wheels that are factory clear coated eventually fail, although it usually takes much longer.

If it starts to chip it's fine. It's probably easier to touch up clear coat than it is paint. My wheels are just starting to fade so I figured I'd try clearing them.

Yea I'm going to sand down my wheels and wash them really well beforehand. If they end up turning out like crap I'll just sand them down again and just repaint and not clear them. I'm going to try it out on just one wheel to start with and see how it goes from there.

Oh and Kyle, that's the same paint my wheels are painted with and that's the same clear coat I plan on using.
