Suggestions....Alcoas or similar?

I'm looking for new wheels for the ranger and really like the look of the 15" polished alcoas. I was wondering if anyone knew of a wheel that looks similar to those and is close to them in quality. Also if I buy a polished alum wheel aftermarket, do they come clear coated or would I have to continually polish them to keep the shine?

Thanks for the help

the only reason i don't like alcoa's are the simple fact they don't have enough offset. otherwise they are a nice wheel.

Same here, I loved my DSG Alcoas but it's the offset and they're too narrow!

At risk of sounding like an absolute noob, what are the advantages and disadvantages of different offsets. You say the alcoas did not have enough offset, so how does that affect the vehicle, does it limit tire sizes? Also can I run 15x8 without speedo problems?

you will have no speedo issues with 15x8...... depending which size meats you run then you could have issues. advantages of a high off set is a stock looking truck that is tucked inside the fender. Disadvantages limits what size tire you can run. Low offset advantages wheel and tire stick out further, better looks, cover the truck in mud easily, better for running an over sized tire. disadvantages some states don't allow the tires sticking way out with out any sort of fender flare. the further out the wheel is the more likely you can get death wobble in the front.

That's the set up I'm looking for with BFG's would you mind throwing me the specs on the rims (size, backspacing) and tire size you've got and if there's any rubbing?

The Alcoa style is fairly common.

I have Eagle Alloy 058s which look like Alcoas. They were $110 a piece. Summit Racing also makes a wheel that looks like the Alcoa. Just go on Summit Racings site and put in the Ranger specs in the wheels section and look around.

8 inch back spacing?

Umm, that can't be right.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARE-1726865/

Yeah 4.5 inch is more likely

Yeah, I can tell lol

Here's a little breakdown so you know what the correct terms are and you don't confuse anyone.

There are 5 main measurements in rims, I will use the 16inch American Racing Polished Baja Wheels in the Summit Racing link as an example.

Wheel Diameter (in) 16 in. (height of the wheel)
Wheel Width (in) 8.000 in. (wheel lip to wheel lip measurement)
Backspacing (in) 4.500 in. (the distant between the inside wheel lip and the inside mounting face, usually 3-5 inches on our trucks, the lower the number the more they stick out)
Offset (mm) 0.00mm (this can positive or negative and it determines how much of a difference between where the mounting face is and where the center of the wheel is, positive offset [FWD] means the mounting face is farther from the center of the rim, negative offset [RWD] means closer to the back of rim)
Bolt Pattern 5 x 4.5 in
