so I'm a newbie here I get that but I bought a ranger for 250 and it had water in the gas tank fixed that and it runs but I want to know what is the biggest size rim and tires I can put under it because I'm a teen who wants a big truck you know what I'm saying so it would be cool if you'd respond back and for reference, it is a 2000 ranger xlt 4x4 with a 3-inch lift

You have a 20 year old truck so suspension is not new, lol

On paper a 2000 Ranger 4x4 with 3" lift can use 33" diameter tires
2000 Ranger 4x4 came with 29" to 30.5" tire options, 9" to 10" width

Rear is usually never an issue for rubbing, just the front
So get out the measuring tape and see what kind of clearance you have on the front wheel WHEN TURNED to the sides
Thats when the rubbing happens, when turning the front wheels
So turn the wheels and measure closest points to body and frame

Each 1 inch of tire diameter is only requires a 1/2 inch of clearance

 

I'm running 33's (285/75-16) on my '99. Small torsion adjustment and taller springs in the back (Sport Trac), plus a 1" body lift. At least on road, no rubbing issues. I'll have a better idea of how it does off road after next weekend.
