so i took my truck to the shop this morning because of these grinding sounds i would hear when braking. turns out i had no brake pads at all in the front so i was hearing metal grinding on metal when i stopped. also; i needed to get new rotors because the lack of protection F***ed them up. (rotors are A LOT more expensive than i thought lol.) ended up spending $400 on new pads, brake fluid, and rotors but now the truck runs great again =)

Look at it this way, you can stop. Stopping is always a good thing. $400 does sound like a lot though.

 

coulda done it yourself for.....less than$200

 

the only tools i have though are my hands haha

 

hey man. If you want theres a few members down here in sc that will fix it for you. Hell 400 sounds pretty steep. 200 probably if you did it your self. PM me if you want to get it fixed a little cheaper.

You could've bought tools with the money you saved by doing it yourself. This includes a Haynes book, star wrench, and box wrenches, and just borrow a jack, and then next time you could buy one. I love being able to buy tools when I have to fix things on my truck, that's almost my favorite part about workin' on it. But being able to stop is always good, bummer you had to replace the rotors though.

comon guys sheesh, the guy got his truck fixed, and not only that but brake pads for my truck are almost 100 dollars and rotors are nearly the same each. so installed i would say thats about right. and dont even mention the dealer...

dont worrie man you didnt get ripped, could you of done it yourself cheaper.. ya but you didnt get dirty and you ddint have to do it.
