What size would you put on my ranger?
Ok guys i have the tire in mind but i need to know what size. My ranger's stock size is 245/75/16's. Now i was thinking about 245/70/16 or 255/70/16 or 265/70/16 or 265/75/16? I am planing on some offroading but i also would like to keep some of my gasmilage(though it is sucks). I figure it will cost about $400 maybe alittle bit more with shipping for the biggest tire of the bunch. So guys what would you put on. I dont want to crank my tbar and have to get it realigned again.

This is my ranger with 265/75/16. Not the best picture but it gives you an idea. Its on a stock supsension set-up with no t-bar crank.
In about two weeks im dumping the 16 inch rims, going with 15x8 rims and 33 BFG All--Terrains with a t-bar crank and 3 in BL. It will look sick!!!!
But for now, 265/75/16 will look good on your stock rims, they add a little beef to the rig.

245/70/16's are alot smaller than 245/75/16
255/70/16's are a hair smaller in height than 245/75's
265/70's which is what im running, is taller, and alot wider than the 245/75's, tho not as tall as the 265/75's
I didnt get the 265/75's cause in my price range/tire brand that ment $20 more PER tire, and a 10 ply tire.
and the tires I got, are the General Grabber At2's and I paid $90 per tire from tire rack, and I am quite happy with them. I also think they look better than the over priced bfg's

Result:
265/70/16 = 30.6x10.4/16
Result:
245/75/16 = 30.5x9.6/16
Result:
265/75/16 = 31.6x10.4/16
so the tires that u wana get are going to be .1 taller and .8 wider.
didnt u want like taller and wider? ur truck wont gain any clearence with thoes
here is a calc to bring metric size to inches works good.

Actually those are about the right size tire as i dont have a lift kit and dont want to crank my t-bars. Considering my ranger is stock i dont want to put to much strain on the axles or the auto tranny. Not really looking for clearence as i dont off road that much. These are the cheapest at's tires i can get. Also i like the 70 series for the looks.

285/75/16s...
Never would i pay $800 for tires. got four ProComp ATs for $500 OTD in a 285/75/16. been over 15,000 miles and they are wearing great (save for the burn out, fish taling, doughnuts and hard driving). they are about 2/3 tread left, great traction in the snow no matter how deep, great in the rain, ride quiet and handle the dry road supurb.
