My friend is looking at getting a set of these for is 2wd 90 bronco II. It is a show bronco and wont be hitting any trails...not hard trails at least.

How much road noise do these make? and how bad does it kill the gas miledge?
Right now he has BFG A/T. He likes the wranglers cause they have the more beefier look to them.

If you have them, just let me no what you think about them.

What the life time on them as well?

 

i got mine form solodos... He says that they are awsome and that they have really thick sidewalls and rocks wont puncure it... as easily...


it didnt affect my gas too much

A friend of mine had them, and he got stuck once cause his front tire caked in mud, he was 2wd and had no power over that, they clean well, and have monster sidewalls.

ha im right here. gas mileage, not much of a difference, road noise, its there, but not much. with a good rotation schedule, youll keep road noise down. life wise, im lookin at gettin about 35-40k.

My personal opinion, these tires ****in rock. look great perform even BETTER. pretty streetable and thck *** sidewalls. some one slashed one of my tires, and you can see how many times they had to try (about 5 attempt marks) to cut through and then they didnt do anymre after the frst and only slashed tire. on the rocks, these things kick so much *** its gnarly. in the mud, these things kick majr ***, but they arent "made" for mud. in a petersons 4wd comparison test, mt/rs even beat out super swamper tsls and finished only second to super swamper boggers.

my bottom line TOTALLY worth the dough for wheeling. but if its on a 2wd that rarely hits the trails, unless you really have your heart set on an offroad tire, just stick with an at. it only practical, but MT/Rs rock my socks off and ill always keep buying them.
they are also about to outlast my stock rt/s's.

 

I agree with Gildo. I'd stick with an A/T if he isn't planning on hitting any trails. If he's looking for mud performance, I'd go with BFG's Mud Terrain. My experience has been MT/Rs are more for rocks and terrain like that as opposed to mud use. People see the MT /R and think it's a mud tire. That actually stands for "Maximum Traction/Reinforced. But they are GREAT tires otherwise.

 

If you are buying them new, they are more money then BGF MT's and I don't think they look any meaner. Since its a show truck and not hitting any trails why not save some money and go with something cheaper. BFG MT's in my opinion do not make enough noise.

 

How do BFG M/T's look meaner? MT/R's have hugeass sidewall tread whereas the BFG's have NONE.

 

correct, they are not a "mud tire" but Ide take an MT/R in mud over a BFG in mud anyday. pettersons did a litttle tire omparo in mud and MT/Rs beat out the BFG

The MT/R scored 1st Place in Appearance, and 3rd in noise. The editors/testers say the tires were "louder than you'd expect".

Although, I think the MT/R would have done better than that. The drivers must have been afraid to hammer down and clean 'em out.

I must have read a different article. I remember I saved the results though, obviously I wouldn't make that up. Could have been a number of things to produce the difference.... driving styles, locations. Either way, they're great tires.

theyre betterin the snow than my RT/Ss that all i can REALLY say. Ive never spun out or **** like that. when im in 4x4 with those tires i get pretty good launches so...


theyre god in SNOW but ice, well everything sucks on ice except a few tires and studded tires...
