"Damn" My 3.0 leaking coolant from timing chain cover
So that small puddle i saw a few days ago, turns out its coming from the timing chain cover, Mechanic told me this is a common proble with the 3.0s and that the covers usually rust around the edges,
Well this is something I don't have the time for right now, Its not that i can do it, i JUST have other priorities right now, I told him i will drop it off next week and we talk and discussed that its best to go ahead a change out the following
1-replace better upgrade timing chain
2-replace timing cover
3-front engine seal
4-water pump
5-thermostat
6-hoses/upper and lower
7-all pullies (my idea since I'm going with the underdog set)
8-belt(again my choice, gatorback)
p.s another thing I have heard hour stroies about 2 bolts behind the ac compressor and ewwww i don't like trouble, sorry folks, don't have to waste.

So my assumption is you had your mechanic do yours, damn i just don't have the time, biut when I start to think about what I can do with that $1,000-1,500, I could do a lot, So it looks like I need to make some time.
Maybe I just misunderstood my mechanic, Hell I only go to him when I don't have the proper tools or time, tell me did you life the entire front of your ranger and work from the bottom? could you tell me what tools you use? and how long it took? do you have any pictures? thanks for your input

I have a 2003 ranger edge with the same problem. There are videos and mechanics that do not remove the oil pan for this repair. So does the oil pan have to be removed for the timing cover gasket replacement or not? I even had a dealer tell me that the engine has to be removed because it has a torsion bar front end! Any thoughts?
