Exhaust

I'm looking at installing an exhaust system on my ranger. I've looked at Magnaflow, Dynomax and Gibson. Which one would sound the best on the 3.0L V6? I like the dual split rear style. Thanks.

Well its all personal pref. IMO. I have a Magnaflow muffler and now that its broke in, man does it sound good. Nice low tone and definatly doesn't sound like a V6. The Flowmaster's sound great also, but they suck performance wise.

If you want great sound, and performance, go with Borla. But, you get what you pay for...hence the reason why Borla is soooo expensive. Not like Magnaflow is either...my stainless steel Magnaflow 2.5" SI/2.5" DO muffler was $100. Check out the sound clip of my exhaust in my sig if you want to know what it sounds like.

that is 100 just for the muffler

i say borla or magnaflow. cant go wrong with either one.

look on ebay for the borla. alot of people get the borla proXS for around 70 bucks.

i have a flowmaster 40 series... i really like it but some folks have complained about power loos with one but i have not noticed that... make sure that with whatever you get you use 2.25inch pipes or you may lose power

I also didnt notice any power loss with my super 40 and it's also 2.5" pipe. Sounds good I think. Just wish I had duals.

Yeah my Stainless Magnaflow muffler was $100 itself. Another $45 for stainless tips then $230 for install. I think it was definatly worth it. Now that its broken in, it really bellows and sounds awesome.

with a flowmaster you dont even have to take to a muffler shop. the super 40 is just enough shorter than stock that once you put the adaptors on all you have to do is clamp it right where the existing muffler was if that makes sense. took like half an hour tops.
