truck won't stay running

truck won't stay running

i replaced my head gaskets, and now when i start my truck i have to pump the gas, when it starts the rpms jump to 2000 and then it dies

sounds like a vacuum leak, look & all ur lines make sure none are un hooked or broken, if that fails take a can of throttle body cleaner & spray along the intake & ur vacuum hoses till it stays runnin

& pay attention to where u are spraying so when it stays runnin u know where the leak is, sometimes the rpms may even raise up when u find the leak also

it got it running, it won't shift out of 1st and it is sputtering

did u check the fuel pressure?

2000 3.0l auto, where do i check the fuel pressure

not 2 sure on the 3.0 there should be a port on ur fuel line on the intake somewere that looks like a valve stem that is were u put a fuel gauge on it 2 check it
