Replacing a flex fuel engine with non flex fuel

My ranger that has been sitting for over a year im looking to get running again. I found a local junk yard that has a 03 3.0L non flex fuel engine. My truck had the flex fuel engine but is blown. My question is can i put in that flex fuel engine and have everything still work as long as i dont ever put in flex fuel?

my guess would be yes, but swap your fuel injectors in the new engine.

I don't think it would even matter if you DID run E85 in it. You have the system installed.

Use the original's injectors and EGR system if installed on yours, pretty sure 03 has no EGR. If there are any other differences, use the original stuff.
